Morozova S. G. Metallurgist Dmitrii Chernov as a violinmaker

A founder of modern study of metals, Dmitrii Konstantinovich Chernov (1839-1921) was also widely known among Russian men and women of learning as a connoisseur of arts and a violinmaker, whose instruments were comparable in quality to those made by the old Italian masters. This paper sheds light on Chernovs contribution to the Russian violinmaking tradition.
